1944/45 - Prestonite v Dennis

A fine double by Len Smith was the outstanding feature of the A grade final, and played a prominent part in securing premiership honors for his side against Prestonite, who were defeated by three wickets. (Northcote Leader)

1945/46 - Dennis v Bell Ramblers

The weather was dull and cold for both days (Saturday & Monday) and this, did not lend itself to the best of cricket.  Nevertheless, those interested contested the games in a keen and sporting spirit ending a very successful season.

Dennis had an easy win by 7 wickets in securing the honors for 1945/46. Ramblers were dismissed for 109 and 104 respectively and Dennis replied with 160 and 3/56.  Ireland was top scorer with 35. McKenzie was the Ramblers best and secured 5/51.

Scores – 160 and 3/56 (Brown 24 & 27, Ireland 35, Craddock 21; McKenzie 5/51) defeat Bell Ramblers 109 and 104 (Browning 22, Cassin 22, Kingsbury 30, McKenzie 26; Cole 8/68, Ireland 3/18) outright by 7 wickets and 3 runs.
